How it works

Choose from 20 destinations. Set the minimum Kp and maximum cloud cover that you're willing to go out for.

We check tonight's forecast every morning
At 14:00 UTC we fetch the latest ECMWF cloud model and NOAA Kp forecast for every city.

If it's worth going, we email you
You'll get a clear summary: Kp index, cloud cover, best viewing window, and a direct link to the full forecast.
Customize Your Alerts
Kp threshold — the minimum Kp index you need to see aurora at your chosen city. Cities inside the auroral oval (like Tromsø or Reykjavík) can see aurora at Kp 2–3. Further south (like Inverness) needs Kp 5+.
Cloud cover threshold — even a small gap can be enough if the aurora is strong. We recommend setting this to 50% or lower for reliable sightings.

How often will I get alerts?
At most once per day. We check tonight's forecast every morning at 14:00 UTC and only email you if conditions meet your thresholds.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every alert email contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're done — no account needed.
What data do you collect?
Only your email address, chosen city, and threshold preferences. We don't sell data or share it with third parties. See our privacy policy for details.
How accurate are the forecasts?
We combine ECMWF and GFS cloud cover models with NOAA Kp forecasts, updated every hour. Forecasts beyond 24 hours are less certain — use them as planning guidance, not guarantees.
Can I subscribe to multiple cities?
Yes — just submit the form once per city. Each subscription has its own thresholds and unsubscribe link.
